E-Commerce Etsy Site

Problem
The business owner needed to pause their Etsy store site for a limited time.

They had drafts of the leave message but were not sure of the grammar or if the wording and tone were consistent across the site.

My Approach
Collaboration:
I worked closely with the business owner to identify the "voice" they wanted to apply to their brand and interactions with customers.
​
Empathy:
I assumed the identity of a customer who wanted to buy from the business. Questions asked: What message will not cause negative feelings toward the business? What tone is most appealing when receiving less-than-ideal news?
Iteration:
I used previous customer communications to identify the tone and vocabulary of the brand and developed workable changes to the "away" message.
Actions
Edited the "away" message for the business using a conversational tone and language that was consistent across the brand.

Ended the message with a complimentary close to appeal to users and leave them with positive associations.
