Project 5:
Company "About Us" Page

Problem
*Company name and location have been changed
The client is not getting much business from their website. They are concerned that their current “About Us” page does not adequately communicate who they are or what their business does.
Additionally, the client does not know about SEO; they want to know what it is and how to apply it to their site.

The original "About Us" page was overloaded with text and superfluous words. It did not clearly communicate information about the company that site visitors should know.

My Approach
SEO Data Research:
Using the online tool, Semrush, I analyzed the SEO data for the site.
The site uses keywords and phrases, such as “OTC Personal Care Products,” “manufacturing products,” “private label skincare,” and “products manufacturer,” among others. I ran a Google search using many words and phrases from the site, but the company was never listed in my results. This indicates that customers would probably not find the company unless they were searching for it by name.
User Journey Mapping:
I plotted the path a user would take through the site, noting where users could get "lost in the weeds."

Empathy:
By assuming the identity of a customer visiting the "About Us" page, I formulated the following questions: Who is the intended audience for this page? What is the desired tone for this page? What message does the company want to convey (what is most important)?

Actions
SEO recommendations:
I would backlink from the regulation organizations or other trusted sites. “Beauty product manufacturing” is a highly competitive key phrase, but I would still embed it throughout the site, as well as further develop long-tail key words. Additionally, I’d optimize title tags and meta descriptions.

Tailored the "About Us" page for health and beauty product business owners who may or may not need manufacturing resources.

Rewrote the "About Us" page, conveying the desired tone and a clear message.

Removed the list of regulation organizations and replaced them with the organizations' logos.

Organized "About Us" page with clearly labeled sub-headings that communicate the most important information for potential customers.
